There are three components to the certificate training program:
- 1.5 hour (0.15 CEU) self-study program
- 3.0 hour (0.3 CEU) live seminar
- Hands-on assessment of intramuscular and subcutaneous injection technique

Cancellation: If the Office of Continuing Education needs to cancel the program, participants will be fully refunded their registration fees. If the participant requests to cancel they may do so, but certain cancellation fees may apply. Once a participant accesses the home study materials, at any time, only a 50% refund will be given upon participant cancellation. Individuals who do not access the home study materials and request to cancel any time between registration and more than 2 weeks in advance of the live date will be assessed a $10.00 cancellation fee. Individuals who do not access the home study materials and request to cancel between 2 weeks and up to 48 hours prior to the live program will receive a 50% refund. No refund will be given for individuals who cancel less than 48 hours prior to the live program. Cancellations MUST be in writing (fax, mail or email).

Participants have 60 days from the start of their program to claim CE credit and verify it has been upload to CPE Monitor. If your program requires the completion of a post test/eval/survey those items MUST be done before that 60 day window closes to receive credit for that program. Statements of credit can be viewed and printed from CPE Monitor. Statements of credit will no longer be printed and mailed to the participant. **No partial individual session credit will be given**

Dennis Williams, PharmD
Brief Bio : Dennis M. Williams, PharmD, is Associate Professor of Pharmacotherapy in the School of Pharmacy, the University of North Carolina (UNC), at Chapel Hill. He is also a Clinical Specialist of pulmonary medicine at UNC Hospitals. Dr. Williams earned his pharmacy degree at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in Lexington, where he received his Doctorate of Pharmacy degree in 1981. He is board certified in pharmacotherapy practice and is a certified asthma educator. Dr. Williams is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the American Pharmaceutical Association, the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists, and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, among others. He has served on the Joint Committee of the American Pharmacists Association and American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and as a consultant to the Orange County Health Department and the Health Sciences Consortium. He has been a co-investigator or principal investigator in numerous research trials. His work has been published in many medical publications and journals, among them The Journal of Asthma, the Journal of the American Pharmaceutical Association, the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, and the Pharmaceutical Development and Technology. Dr. Williams is a member of the editorial advisory boards for Asthma and Allergies and the Journal of Pharmacy Practice and is a reviewer for the American Journal of Managed Care, the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, and Clinical Pharmacy, among others. He has also lectured widely on the topics of asthma, inhalation therapies, and effective patient education. |

Macary Marciniak, PharmD, BCACP, BCPS, FAPhA
Brief Bio : Macary Marciniak, Pharm.D., is a clinical associate professor at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her focus is in community pharmacy practice, specifically immunizations, medication therapy management, and self-care. She serves as the director of the PGY1 and PGY2 Community Pharmacy/Academia Residency Programs. Marciniak is an adviser for the Carolina Association of Pharmacy Students, a unified professional organization affiliated with the American Pharmacists Association, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists. She also serves as an adviser for Phi Delta Chi Professional Pharmacy Fraternity. Before returning home to her alma mater, Marciniak was a community pharmacy faculty member at Albany College of Pharmacy in Albany, New York, for seven years. She is a board certified ambulatory care pharmacist, a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist and a fellow of the American Pharmacists Association. She has completed certificate-training programs in diabetes, immunizations, MTM, self-care and tobacco cessation. Marciniak is a national faculty trainer for the APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certificate training program and has trained hundreds of pharmacists across the United States. Marciniak is an active member of state and national professional organizations. She is currently a member-at-large on the NCAP Community Care Practice Forum Executive Committee and is a member of the NCAP Immunization Task Force. She is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, APhA, ASHP, Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International, Phi Delta Chi and Phi Lambda Sigma. Marciniak serves as an APhA media adviser and frequently responds to media requests related to health, wellness and medications. In 2011, she served as the expert pharmacist in a year-long series of episodes for WebMD’s “Ask the Pharmacist.” Macary has been honored with the Pharmacy Leadership and Education Institute Albert B. Ouita Gatton, RPh Brief Bio : After graduating from the School in 1989, Gatton worked in consulting, infusion pharmacy, and several independents and chains. Gatton joined the Kroger Pharmacy team in 1997. She eventually advanced to serve as the Kroger Mid-Atlantic Division clinical coordinator in Roanoke, Virginia. In Virginia, Gatton coordinated all pharmacy programs not directly related to dispensing. She provided leadership for 300 pharmacists in 116 pharmacies across six states: North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Tennessee, and Kentucky. When Gatton returned to Raleigh, she staffed and helped coordinate special projects for Kroger’s North Carolina stores and area communities. She also serves on the Community Care Practice Forum and Immunization Task Force for the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists and is a national immunization trainer for the APhA. Gatton began her role as a residency preceptor with the School in 2013. |

The live instruction portion will have a limited number of in person spaces available at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. A Zoom webinar format will also be available for this portion of the day. The program will allow participants to view instruction and the opportunity to ask questions and discussion points with the instructor in either format. Participants must attend online at the scheduled time and for the full duration of this program to earn credit. Attendance will be recorded through zoom, and you must be logged in through a computer, not a mobile device. You will have the choice to select your format during registration.
