Medicare and Part D Update Home Study (P/T)

This program is accredited by the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and is being offered through a joint providership with Senior PharmAssist.
This program will be held at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy as well as streamed online. Participants have the choice to attend live in class or online to receive credit. Specific location instructions and information for access to the online option will be sent closer to the program date. Please note that beginning August 2019 UNC will begin charging for evening parking in university operated parking lots. Your registration does not cover that cost, should you choose to attend live in class.

Cancelation:  No refunds will be given for this program once registration has been completed.

Participants have 60 days from the start of their program to claim CE credit and verify it has been upload to CPE Monitor. If your program requires the completion of a post test/eval/survey those items MUST be done before that 60 day window closes to receive credit for that program. Statements of credit can be viewed and printed from CPE Monitor. Statements of credit will no longer be printed and mailed to the participant. **No partial individual session credit will be given**

Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education
The University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. To receive CE credit, participants must complete the CE attendance form and the online evaluation of the program (instructions to be emailed). Statements of credit can be viewed and printed in CPE Monitor approximately 2 to 3 weeks after the program and you have completed any needed requirements. **No partial credit will be available**

Requirements for CE Credit

To receive CE credit, the participant must watch the viedo recording in its entirety, complete the online post-test and receive a score of 70% or greater, and complete the online evaluation.





  • Describe Medicare and compare Original Medicare with Medicare Advantage
  • Outline the Medicare Part D 2020 medication benefits and attempt to demonstrate how to use the CMS plan finder tool to sort plans
  • List resources that can help with Medicare Part D, including the NC Department of Insurance - Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP)

Brief Bio : Gina earned her Bachelor of Science in pharmacy and her master’s degree in public health at UNC-Chapel Hill. She also completed a residency in geriatric pharmacy practice at UNC-CH. She remains as adjunct faculty with both schools. Between degrees, she served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer teaching science in Botswana.
