This knowledge-based continuing education will explore areas of recent therapeutic advancement including arthritis and new drug therapy for the management of hepatitis C. Additionally we will review how to treat pain safer with fewer opioids; optimizing insulin management through blood glucose pattern assessment as well as explore psychosocial barriers to achieving blood glucose control. We look forward to seeing you in October!

Objectives

  • Discuss safe handling of biologics for rheumatoid arthritis (P/T)
  • Identify the CDC guidelines for prescribing opioids for chronic pain (P)
  • Discuss with the patients what to do if they miss a dose (P)
  • Discuss possible side effects from biologic medications for RA (P)
  • Describe the impact of the opioid crisis (P/T)
